AMRA® Profiler Research

With only 6 minutes in a standard 1.5T or 3T scanner, AMRA’s advanced analysis transforms MR images into precise and reliable measurements.

What We Measure

AMRA® Profiler Research enables regional and complete segmentation
and quantification of muscle and fat tissue volumes in the body.

  • Visceral Adipose Tissue (VAT)
AMRA also measures Visceral Adipose Tissue (VAT) within the abdominal cavity, excluding adipose tissue outside the abdominal skeletal muscles and adipose tissue and lipids within the cavity, posterior of the spine and back muscles.
  • Abdominal Subcutaneous Adipose Tissue (ASAT)
AMRA closely monitors standard body fat measurements, such as Abdominal Subcutaneous Adipose Tissue (ASAT).
  • Lean Thigh Muscle Volume
AMRA measures posterior and anterior muscles for the left and right thigh. Posterior thigh muscles include gluteus, iliac, adductor, and hamstring muscles on respective sides. Anterior thigh muscles include quadriceps femurs and sartorius.
  • Proton-Density Liver Fat Fraction
AMRA uses Proton-Density Fat Fraction (PDFF) to provide a non-invasive, precise measurement of liver fat content.
  • Intramuscular Adipose Tissue (IMAT)
AMRA accurately quantifies intramuscular fat fraction through measurements taken from the anterior thigh muscles.
  • Total Adipose Tissue Volume (TAT) and Total Lean Tissue Volume (TLT)
AMRA precisely measures Total Adipose Tissue Volume (TAT) and Total Lean Tissue Volume (TLT) within the entire body or a pre-defined region.
  • Muscle Group Volumes and Individual Muscle Volumes
AMRA is able to precisely quantify groups or individual muscle volumes in the body.

Benefits of AMRA® Profiler Research

AMRA’s cloud-based analysis service expands and refine the understanding of relationships between fat, muscle and disease development, thus supporting research findings that can be applied to therapeutic product investigation and, in the future, to patient management.

  • Rapid MRI Scanning
AMRA's whole-body MRI requires only 6-minutes, as compared to traditional scans that take up to 45 minutes.
  • Decreased MRI Costs
AMRA operates with most modern 1.5T or 3T MRI scanners and delivers automated insights – a seamless workflow that combines cost-cutting efficiencies with the highest precision available.
  • Advancing Precision Medicine
Long-term, AMRA aims to support the global understanding of individual health and metabolic status, thereby allowing physicians to be better equipped to predict and prevent disease.
  • Data-driven Trial Optimisation
AMRA allows for precise baseline characterisation, a selection of study participants based upon direct body composition measurements, and overall study enrichment.
  • Precise, Longitudinal Tracking
AMRA precisely tracks changes in the volume, distribution, and quality of fat and muscles.
  • Monitored Response to Treatment
AMRA allows for a greater understanding of the effects of pharmaceutical and medical intervention.
  • Early Detection of Treatment Efficacy
The high precision in AMRA's technology allows you to measure small changes very early in the treatment process.
  • Improved Understanding of Disease Development
AMRA advances the understanding of the interplay between fats, muscles and the development of disease.
